Land Air Sea Warfare is a highly detailed RTS game developed by Isotope 244. The game bears some similarities to the likes of Dawn of War, Starcraft and Command and Conquer with its grid-based building system and overhead camera views. Retro RTS gamers will definitely enjoy this game, offering classic, highly customizable PvE battles. From the main menu you can choose the number of players and the difficulty, but also the landscape, climate, map size and victory conditions. This allows players to tailor maps and battle conditions to their needs and how difficult they want it to be.
When you first start the game, a short tutorial will explain the basics of the game to you. If you've never played RTS games, this is worth a look. While certainly comprehensive, it is a little wordy, and in truth it is just as easy to learn as you go. A player will notice some standard features once the game starts including a central HQ, used as your means of resource generation, the 'shroud' which covers unseen territory and prevents you from building there, as well a user interface for building structures and units, quick-jumping to areas of the map and so on. Controls for the game involve just pointing, clicking and dragging and are easy to pick up. Clicking on a building will reveal all construction options for it. Building your Army
Construction in the game is done using mined ore which you can convert into metal. To keep all of your buildings operational, you will need power which can be maintained using Power Units. Power plants have many different types (power cells, wind turbines, etc.). Once you have a decent amount of power, you can start bolstering your defenses. This can be done with a variety of turrets for defending against land, sea and air units. Choosing your defenses is important, since there is no 'master' unit and certain units will not help you in certain situations.
Building a unit requires metal, time and power. These are displayed when you hover over the unit's icon in the building menu. Once you have built multiple power units, you can upgrade your HQ to a higher Tech Level. This will allow you to build more advanced units, research new technologies and will increase your HQ's armor. Buildings come in various types, as well. Factories can be used to construct your main units. Units will display their attack parameters (land, air, sea), their DPS, Armor and Speed. Defensive units include not only turrets but walls, outposts and other structures. A player's 'force information' will be displayed at the bottom right of the screen, which takes values for Air, Land, Sea, Sub, HQ, Power and Buildings and measures their strength.

Graphics, Visuals and Sound
Graphically, the game is presented to us in stunning 3D high quality images. Whether static structures, particle beams, explosives, or mobile units, the game does an excellent job at rendering all movements and animations smoothly with amazing textures and colors. Running at a decent framerate is important for RTS games, and this game displays little or no visible framerate drops, even when there are literally dozens of units on the screen. The music also helps to add to the drama, particularly in more gripping encounters.
The Verdict
For RTS games, it is better for players to learn for themselves what the game can offer. Needless to say, from my point of view it played just like many classic RTS games from the 1990s, most notably Starcraft. Controls were easy to master. Menus were even easier to navigate, with a compact user interface. Graphics and textures for units and environments were well rendered without any framerate drops. Most importantly, the paced, strategic gameplay that comes with such games was well realized, with plenty of choice offered to the player when defending, attacking, or simply upgrading. Whether you're a veteran RTS player or a newcomer, the game has enough interesting features to draw you in. Well worth downloading.
